ClearCorrect aligners are plastic shells that snap over your teeth. Your orthodontist obtains a very accurate set of impressions and the ClearCorrect company digitizes them into an electronic model. Your orthodontist then moves the teeth on the digital model to the desired final result. The ClearCorrect company then creates a series of clear plastic aligners that sequentially move your teeth from the initial position to the desired position by altering individual tooth positions in the plastic, little by little. Every couple of weeks you'll get a new set of aligners that move the teeth a little closer to that final position. You can plan on having treatment about the same length of time and also experiencing the same amount of soreness because ClearCorrect aligners use the same forces as braces and your teeth won't know the difference. The main advantages of aligner systems is that aligners are attractive (clear) and can be removed for eating and brushing. Good luck!
