How is central pain syndrome diagnosed?

Central pain syndrome can be difficult to diagnose because the pain may be widespread and appear unrelated to any injury or trauma to the brain or spinal cord, or to a disease like Parkinson's or multiple sclerosis. But you should talk to your doctor about your symptoms, which can include chronic pain that most often feels like a burning sensation often accompanied by a "pins and needles" feeling from unexpected aches or throbbing pains. Numbness or occasional sharp pains also have been reported.
