Sarcoidosis in a mother does not normally present any threat to a developing fetus, and in most cases a woman will be able to deliver a healthy baby with minimal complications. If you have sarcoidosis and are pregnant or trying to become pregnant, discuss your condition with a doctor and schedule regular appointments. If your sarcoidosis is chronic or serious, they may encourage you to wait until your symptoms improve. Additionally, certain complications of sarcoidosis, such as respiratory and heart failure, can pose a significant risk to pregnancy.

Many drugs used to combat symptoms of sarcoidosis can have an adverse affect on pregnancy, although corticosteroids are usually safe to use.
