How does Caduet treat high cholesterol?

One of Caduet’s two component drugs is atorvastatin, a member of a group of drugs called statins. Statins are designed to lower cholesterol by sweeping low -density cholesterol (LDL , or “bad” cholesterol) out of your blood and limiting your body’s ability to make new LDL. When used in combination with amlodipine, the other component drug of Caduet, atorvastatin helps to treat major risk factors for heart attack and other serious heart and circulatory problems.
