Resveratrol could be beneficial in urological oncology, but more study is needed. Several animal studies have found that resveratrol may slow the growth of cancer tumors or prevent cancer from starting in the first place. In addition, a study published in the International Journal of Cancer revealed that middle-aged men who drank a glass of red wine a day cut their risk of prostate cancer in half. Other studies in men have failed to confirm these findings, however.

Experts say more research is needed to determine whether eating foods rich in resveratrol or taking supplements can reduce your risk of urinary-related cancers.
