Stretch marks are a very common concern of ladies. "How do I avoid them?" And unfortunately I have to just admit that they are a fact of pregnancy for 75 to 90 percent of ladies. From the hormone changes in pregnancy, our skin actually thins a little bit, and our elastin or what makes our tissue or skin a little more elastic actually changes. Probably relates more to weight gain, which none of us can avoid during pregnancy, but it's the actual speed of the weight gain. So if someone doesn't gain weight as quickly, sometimes they can avoid some stretch marks.
Things that can help, but won't necessarily take away stretch marks, are creams with vitamin E, keeping the skin as moisturized as you can, drinking lots of extra fluids, and knowing they will fade after pregnancy. They may not totally resolve, but they will significantly fade.
