When creating a workout program, it is important to consider health factors that may impact your level of training. Some health conditions that need to be taken into consideration include asthma, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, heart disease, and previous injuries. These conditions should not stop you from starting a fitness program, but they simply needed to be taken into account when creating a program that fits your needs and goals. In fact, people with these health conditions can benefit greatly from the introduction of a holistic fitness program that includes physical activity and nutrition. The best route to starting fitness program is to consult a health professional who will be able to assess your current condition and mold a program that would be best for you.

It is very important to take an honest look at your current health condition before starting a new workout program.  Whether it is a condition or disease that you are under care for (diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, or heart disease, etc.), or pain you experience from joints, previous surgeries or injuries, you need to take those things into consideration.  The best thing to do is discuss any conditions that might concern you with your physician before starting a workout program.  Personal trainers also can be a great resource for helping design an safe and effective program that meets your doctors recommendations and your goals.

Medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, any type of cardiac or respiratory issues, also musculoskeletal need to be taken into consideration before creating any type of fitness program.  The entire human body should be functioning adequately and a check up with a physician would be beneficial if your client has never exercised in the past.

It is important for anyone who is beginning a new fitness program to consult a fitness professional beforehand.  The most important part of this process is for you (the client) to be honest with the fitness professional during the consultation.  If you have a weak knee--tell them, if you have high blood pressure--tell them.  All of your current conditions will allow the fitness professional to structure or modify a proper fitness program.  While the fitness professional it not allowed to diagnose medical conditions--it is very important that they are aware of them.  Hope this helps

It is important to check with your Doctor before starting an exercise program. Conditons such as Diabetes and heart conditions need to be factored in to safely start exercising. A good rule of thumb is any condition you see a Doctor regularly for should be considered. The great thing about exercise is that there is always something you can do!
