There are medications that will interfere with the measurement of your blood sugar when used with some types of glucose test strips. The sugar in some medications can make your blood sugar test result falsely appear to be too high. The types of glucose test strips that can be affected by this problem are known as GDH-PQQ glucose test strips. Your doctor will not want you to use GDH-PQQ glucose test strips if you are taking a medication that could interfere with the measurement of your blood sugar. Glucose test strips that do not cause this problem are glucose oxidase, GDH-NAD, and GDH-FAD strips. Be sure to let your doctor know about all medications that you use so that you do your blood glucose monitoring with the right kind of glucose test strips for you.
