Are the dried fruits in fruitcake healthy?

    No, most of them are candied, meaning that they are soaked in syrup. Also, some of the dried “fruits” are actually candy gummies made to look like grapes, cranberries, and raisins.

    Yes do not let the word "fruit" fool you.  Same with fruit juices.  

    I am speaking from a fat loss and weight loss standpoint but just because it says fruit it does not mean that it will help you lose weight.  Dried fruit and fruit juices are more dense in calories and the more dense your calories the more unlikely you are to lose weight.  Fresh fruit is always better because the density is less and you can eat a greater volume and keep calories lower.
