What foods contain saturated fat?

Janis Jibrin of The Best Life answered:You can't avoid saturated fat completely because it's in many healthy foods, including olive oil, but you can limit the loaded sources, such as butter, cream, full-fat cheese, whole milk, fatty meats, and chicken skin. A few plant foods, such as palm and coconut oil, are also high in saturated fat. Fortunately, the type of saturated fatty acid in the cocoa butter in chocolate (stearic acid) does not raise low-density lipoprotein (LDL). Sometimes you luck out!

Enas Shakkour answered:Saturated fats are usually found in animal fats: High-fat cheeses, cream, butter, lard, chicken skin, and fatty meats. Saturated fats, however, are also found in some plant products such as coconut oil, cottonseed oil, and palm kernel oil. Many baked products such as pastries, doughnuts, cookies, crackers, and cakes contain saturated fats. Check your labels! Stay away from high-fat animal products and avoid tropical oils.
