What follow-up care will I need for AIDS-related lymphoma?
-
During treatment for AIDS-related lymphoma, your doctor may need to run tests to check whether the treatment is helping. Some of these may be the same tests you had when your cancer was being diagnosed or staged, including blood tests, imaging tests such as CT scans, and physical exams. Depending on what the tests show, your doctor may want to alter your treatment.
After treatment is complete, you will still need occasional tests to see whether the cancer has returned and to check your overall health. If the lymphoma does return, you and your doctor will need to decide what kind of treatment is appropriate.
