Doreen Rodo answered:Snacking-we all do it, but wouldn't it be nice if we could make the junk food healthier? Here are some better choices.....but remember to eat them in moderation:- Have Baked Chips instead of regular chips.
- Instead of corn chips or Doritos, have Sun Chips.
- Baked Tostito's are a decent alternative to regular tortilla chips.
- Select pretzels with whole grains instead of regular pretzels.
- Dips can include hummus, salsa, and real guacamole, like Wholly Guacamole.
If you have a sweet tooth, buy a sweetened cereal such as frosted shredded wheat and snack on that-it's better than cookies.
Kashi products are decent snack choices-there are cookies, crackers and bars.
Fiber One bars are a good substitute for cookies. For example, the Oats and Peanut Butter bar which has 150 calories does have 2 grams of saturated fat, but it has 9 grams of dietary fiber and 10% calcium. Still, the total nutrition value is better than Oreos.

Paula Greer answered:Start reading labels, look for protein and fiber and not processed foods, chemicals, fat, sugars or sodium. Keep the calories under 200 calories per snack. Get the most nutritious bang for your buck and learn to have fun looking at the nutritional information. Make a game out of it. When you find a healthy snack share it with others. My healthiest snacks are the ones I make fresh for myself. Remember processed foods and things like high fructose corn syrup will sabotage your weight loss efforts.
