So it can be 100% for you and not at all for your neighbour, so to speak. Within the realm of sexually transmitted infections, no condom can completely protect you. Genital warts can grow on the scrotum and other perineal areas that are not covered by a condom. From a practical point of view, there are pros and cons to the female condom. They are more expensive than male condoms, a bit more awkward to use unless you have the process mastered, they are messier because the lubricant is on a larger area and can get on your fingers and they can make some pretty funny noises during enthusiastic intercourse. In their favour, female condoms give the woman a fair degree of control over potential conception and infection if her male partner will not use protection.
