  1. Electrical burns are usually diagnosed by your doctor through history, symptoms, and a review of your skin. In most cases, it will be obvious that an electrical current was the cause of a burn. If no symptoms are present, a doctor may not do any tests, but more serious cases may require an electrocardiogram (ECG), blood or urine test, computed tomography (CT) scan, or a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) test.
