Especially reluctant flossers will be happy to learn that there are now even electric flossing devices. A piece of sturdy fishing line-like nylon is vibrated between teeth in an oscillating motion.

The only downside to electric flossers is that they can be somewhat aggressive along the gumline. Overzealous flossing can actually change the shape of your gum tissue between your teeth, particularly in the "aesthetic zone" (the part of your smile that others see), and create dark triangles at the necks of teeth. If you elect to use an electric flossing device, look for one that uses fewest “strokes per minute” and always exercise care when using it.
