    Small amounts of alcohol you could have consumed before you found out you were pregnant will not cause your baby to have Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. If you're planning to conceive, quit drinking several weeks before you begin trying to get pregnant. If you are a problem drinker or if you cannot quit drinking during pregnancy, then you should seek help immediately.
