Does insurance cover fibromyalgia doctor visits?

Fibromyalgia does not have an international classification of diseases code (ICD) specifically, it is usually coded under myalgia and myositis, unspecific, 729.1.(11) Under the 729.1 for now. However the ICD-9 is to change by 2013, and there is a great deal of concern regarding this change. As long as your doctor codes all of your complaints, including those for comorbid conditions to fibromyalgia, your insurance should cover it. If you have a problem, speak with the person in the doctor’s office that does insurance billing.
