- Time elapse since previous ejaculation: Peak ejaculate volume is reached in 24-48 hours. Larger volumes are evident with greater durations of abstinence.
- Hydration status: Total ejaculate volume is 98% water. Ejaculate volume will be reduced and thicker if dehydrated (not enough water circulating in the body). Avoid dehydrating substances (e.g., alcohol, coffee).
