Yes, Cipro XR (ciprofloxacin) may interact with many other drugs. Tell your doctor if you are taking tizanidine, or Zanaflex. Using tizanidine while using Cipro XR is not advisable and can cause serious reactions. Also, make sure your doctor knows you are taking the following medications before using Cipro XR because of possible interactions:

    • warfarin
    • clozapine
    • insulin
    • methotrexate
    • metoclopramide
    • phenytoin
    • probenecid
    • ropinirole
    • theophylline
    • nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, such as ibuprofen or naproxen
    • diclofenac
    • indomethacin
    • steroid medication such as prednisone

Ciprofloxacin can interact with caffeine. Over-the-counter antacids and dairy products also may interact with Cipro XR if taken at the same time of day.
