    SCAI answered:
An arrhythmia is an irregular heartbeat. It can sometimes cause fainting by interrupting the supply of oxygen to the brain if the arrhythmia causes less blood to be pumped from the heart. Most arrhythmias typically do not cause fainting, but when they do they should be promptly evaluated by a cardiologist. Children typically do not faint from arrhythmias but should also be evaluated by a cardiologist to figure out exactly what kind of arrhythmia is present.
