Yes, albuterol is known to interact with some medications. Taking albuterol in conjunction with diuretics increases the risk of low blood potassium levels. Albuterol may decrease the effectiveness of digoxin. Beta-blockers may decrease the effectiveness of albuterol. The risk of side effects from albuterol is increased when it is taken in conjunction with the following medications: catechol-O-methyltransferase (COMT) inhibitors, epinephrine, MAOIs, short-acting sympathomimetic bronchodilators, stimulants, sympathomimetics or tricyclic antidepressants. Albuterol is not known to interact with any foods. Because other medications and substances may interact with Aerobid, talk to your doctor about your full medical history before taking this medication.
