Many hospitals and clinics are moving away from a paper charting system to an electronic charting system. One of the main advantages of this electronic charting system is the fact that all of the patient's information is in one spot. This includes, but is not limited to, laboratory tests, imaging, specialty consults, routine physicals, immunizations, and even advanced directives.
