    Most orthopedic physicians work with a few specific types of artificial joints. Each type of artificial joint requires increased knowledge related to: use; insertion; postoperative care/guidelines; postoperative rehabilitation; and expected outcomes.

    Your doctor will be familiar with a few types and have increased experience with these and therefore, recommend one that they are knowledgeable about.
