    Certain illnesses, such as diabetes, can increase your risk for gingivitis. The weakened immunity associated with diseases, such as HIV and leukemia, can also increase your risk. In addition, some medications used to treat conditions like as seizures and high blood pressure can make you predisposed to gingivitis.
