Do lymphomas affect children?

Lymphomas do affect children, mostly in the same way that adults are affected. Symptoms are very similar, but treatments may vary due to some of the potential side effects of treatment. And while there are over 20 different types of lymphomas that can affect adults, lymphomas in children tend to fall in to only a few of the subtypes. Lymphomas can also be very aggressive and can grow more rapidly than those in adults. Children respond well to chemotherapy, often better than adults, and chemo is the preferred treatment for children, since radiation could cause issues with growth and physical development in kids.
