ACE inhibitors are just one of many medications in the arsenal of medications used to assist in the care and management of a patient with congestive heart failure. Know that there are many variables that determine which medication(s) a patient should be on. Generally speaking, a previous reaction to an ACE medications (trouble breathing or severe cough) or poor kidney function preclude the use of these medications.
