Does desvenlafaxine have any drug or food interactions?

Desvenlafaxine may interact with: diet medications; aspirin; lithium; linezolid; metoclopramide; ibuprofen; diuretics; tramadol; tricyclic antidepressants; rasagiline; other SSRIs (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors); serotonin 5-HT1 receptor antagonists; blood thinners; NSAIDs (nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs); antifungal medications; cyproheptadine; desipramine and midazolam. Fatal side effects may occur if you take this drug with MAO (monoamine oxidase) inhibitors or St. John's Wort, as well as fenfluramine derivatives, nefazodone, tryptophan or methylene blue.

Other interactions are possible as well, so inform your healthcare provider of all medications, supplements and herbs that you are taking before taking this medication. Also, do not drink alcoholic beverages while using this medication. Interactions may cause additional health problems, so use caution and discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor.
