Does masked depression affect children differently than adults?

Children who suffer from masked depression usually exhibit different symptoms from adults or delayed symptoms. Whereas an adult with masked depression will engage in behaviors such as substance abuse or alcohol abuse, a child may exhibit anxiety, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), or behavioral problems in interacting with other children.
