Chronic pelvic pain is a common complaint, particularly of women of childbearing age. This pain could be gynecological in nature, or it may stem from irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), interstitial cystitis (IC), or pelvic floor myofascial syndrome. This continuous or intermittent pelvic pain may last for months with no known cause or cure.
