The vision problems associated with albinism likely will not go away. Depending on the type of albinism, though, children and adolescents may develop some pigmentation; this is because some children and adolescents start producing melanin as their bodies mature. Their skin, hair, and eye color may change as they produce melanin, and they may get skin marks such as freckles and moles. Some children and adolescents are able to become tan in the sun.
