What causes your leg/foot to tingle and "fall asleep"?

    When your leg/foot tingle and "fall asleep", they are experiencing a decrease in oxygen. The tissues in our body need oxygen to live. Oxygen is delivered to the tissues via our blood. When the blood supply to the tissues is reduced, or cut off, the tissues begin to respond to the decreased oxygen levels. The tingling and falling asleep occur when the decreased oxygen levels occur.
