Some people have heard that vaccines can cause chronic diseases such as autism (a mental health disorder), diabetes, Crohn's disease (chronic inflammation of the intestinal wall), multiple sclerosis (a disease of the nervous system affecting the eye, brain, and spinal cord), and cancer. After decades of vaccine use in the United States, research on the safety of vaccines has not produced any reliable evidence that vaccines cause chronic illness.
