    Topamax (also known as topiramate) can slow the growth of children. Because he is taking this medicine, your son may not grow as tall as he would have if he were not taking it. Also, Topamax can cause a condition known as rickets (which causes bones to grow in a bent way in children). Talk with your son’s doctor about how this medicine can affect your son’s growth.
