    Studies now show that about one-third of people with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) will lose their symptoms and complaints over time for reasons that are not understood. This offers hope for many people with IBS, because spontaneous improvement can occur with time. Still, this is not the case for everybody. Proper diagnosis and understanding of the mind, body and spirit connection can help most people with IBS live a more normal life.
