There is no evidence that scoliosis can be prevented. The majority of scoliosis cases have no known cause, and it may be passed down through generations. Additionally, in the cases where scoliosis is caused by a birth defect or another condition, scoliosis can merely be treated. Although there is no definitive prevention method for scoliosis, early detection and treatment can slow or even stop the progression of the condition.

That is why it is important that children (especially with a family history of scoliosis) are checked regularly by their pediatrician and family members.
