Try as much as possible to get the vitamin K you need from the foods you eat. If this is not possible, follow your doctor's instructions for taking vitamin K supplements. These supplements can be taken as either a prescription or over-the-counter drug in capsule, tablet or injection form. They should be taken with water, with or without food. For most adults, the recommended daily dosage is 90 to 120 micrograms (mcg). The dosage is different for infants, children, pregnant or breastfeeding women or the elderly.

You can get vitamin K in many foods.  Green leafy vegetables, such as lettuce, green cabbage, collard, kale, and spinach as well as broccoli and Brussels sprouts are excellent sources of vitamin K.
