    If you have a fever or an active infection, wait until the infection has resolved completely before donating blood.  You cannot donate blood if you are taking antibiotics for an infection.

    You must wait 10 days after the last antibiotic injection before donating blood.

    Guidelines on eligibility to give blood change from time to time. The most up-to-date eligibility information can be obtained by contacting the American Red Cross blood center nearest you.
