Dr. Lee Duffner of American Academy of Ophthalmology answered:Eye floaters can be annoying and distracting, but they do not cause loss of balance. Floaters that suddenly appear or suddenly worsen should be checked out by an Eye M.D. to be sure there are no defects in the retina or blood vessels of the eye.
