Not everyone qualifies for long-term care insurance. For instance, if you have certain health conditions such as metastatic cancer or Alzheimer's disease, you may not be able to get long-term care insurance. However, it still might be worth checking with your insurance company to see what options might be available to you. The premiums for long-term care insurance increase with the age at which you purchase the policy. The same policy might cost $2,000 a year for a fifty-five year old person, $2,200 a year for a sixty year old person, $2,500 a year for a sixty-five year old person and $3,000 a year for a seventy year old. Review your options carefully to make the decision that is right for you.
