A Mediterranean-style diet, which favors whole foods over refined ones, lean meats and fish over red meat, and healthy fats and fewer dairy products, has been shown to reduce the risk of Parkinson's disease. Here are some tips for eating the Mediterranean way:
    • Cut the amount of red meat and dairy products in your diet.
    • Boost your intake of high-fiber foods, such as whole grains, legumes (lentils, beans, peas), and fruits and vegetables.
    • Use healthy fats such as those found in olive oil and nuts.
    • Eat plenty of fish, which is rich in omega-3 healthy fats. Safety tip: Choose low-mercury fish.
