    While some research has been done, the jury is still out on whether eating allergenic foods during pregnancy and breast-feeding can give allergies to your child. Food allergens cross the placenta and the baby receives them via mom's breast milk. Some doctors say that there is some benefit to avoiding foods that are highly allergenic during pregnancy and lactation.
