Can amblyopia be prevented?

Regular eye exams may prevent amblyopia, or lazy eye. Amblyopia can be caused by a number of other eye conditions, such as strabismus, so diagnosing those conditions and treating them early may prevent amblyopia from forming. As lazy eye often starts at a young age though, it can be hard to prevent. Luckily, the disorder is treatable, especially when caught early.
