    It isn't known if extended-release albuterol passes into breast milk. Because this asthma drug has been shown to cause tumors in animal studies, the manufacturer recommends that new mothers either stop nursing or stop taking the drug, depending on how important the medicine is to their health. Talk to your doctor about which would be best for you.
