    Fluoride rinses can be harmful if you swallow large amounts; overdose is possible. When used as directed, these dental rinses can help improve the health of your teeth. However, if you or your children use one, never swallow the liquid. That could make you or them very ill. Symptoms of fluoride overdose include stomach pain, throwing up, muscle weakness or stiffness, tingling and seizures.
