Can I become pregnant while taking ticarcillin-clavulanate?
-
Stacy Wiegman answered:She may become pregnant on ticarcillin-clavulanate, but she probably shouldn't. As with many drugs, ticarcillin-clavulanate (Timentin) can be dangerous to the fetus if your wife is pregnant. She should discuss her best options regarding pregnancy, including prevention (a condom might be best for the latter, since many antibiotics interfere with the effectiveness of oral contraceptives). If your wife does become pregnant while on this drug, she should tell her doctor immediately; she might need to discontinue the medicine.
