    You don’t have to spend a lot to eat healthy and lose weight. Make sure you plan your weekly meals in advance and keep the cost within your budget. Once you have a grocery list written, stick with it. Avoid impulse buying, which will only add to the cost—and probably add more calories, too.

    Check the Sunday newspaper for coupons. Cut out coupons of foods that are within your diet plan. Avoid using coupons for junk foods or high calorie foods. Compare stores and shop at the supermarket that has the best bargains.  Also, take advantage of sales.

    Buy fruits and vegetables that are in season as the prices will be lower.  Consider canning fruits and vegetables to save them for another season.  Buy legumes, beans, peas, soy products, and peanut butter for healthy protein choices.
