    Men and women are about equally likely to use and abuse stimulants, such as cocaine and methamphetamine. However, women report first using cocaine at younger ages than men. Some initial evidence from people and from animals also suggests that women more quickly develop dependence on stimulants, and are more prone to relapse after quitting.
