There are many risks, which you should talk to your doctor about before taking Levaquin. Levaquin may cause hepatitis and other severe liver problems. If you have low potassium levels, you should be aware that Levaquin may cause you to have an irregularly fast or slow heartbeat. It is also important to know that Levaquin increases your risk for tendinitis or tendon ruptures, especially if you are 60 years of age or older. Levaquin can also cause life-threatening allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis.
