There are some risks in taking Diovan HCT. If taken during pregnancy, it can cause serious problems to the unborn child, such as low blood pressure, kidney failure, problems in growth of skull bones, and death. It can cause low blood pressure, particularly in the first days of treatment. If you feel dizzy or like you are going to faint, lie down and call your doctor right away. Avoid having any type of surgery or taking other prescription or non-prescription medications, especially salt substitutes or potassium supplements, unless you have consulted with your doctor.
