Although saw palmetto has a number of different side effects, the majority of them are very mild. Most common side effects are gastrointestinal - nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, diarrhea, constipation, and bad breath. Other symptoms are more severe but have not been definitively linked with saw palmetto. These symptoms include:-liver damage-yellowing of the skin-ulcers-dizziness-insomnia-headache-depression-muscle pain-high blood pressure-breathing problems-unusual heart rhythms-heart disease and chest pain. Additionally, saw palmetto can thin the blood and cause sexual side effects such as testicular discomfort, problems with erections, change in libido, and breast tenderness or enlargement.
